What parasites might affect my pet?

What are signs of parasites in my pet?

The signs that your pet has a parasitic infestation may not be so obvious in the early stages. For this reason it is important to follow a strict prevention plan and have regular testing. Some parasites if left untreated can lead to fatality. Signs of parasites manifest in different ways. Here are some that you should look out for:

1. Swollen belly
2. Itching
3. Lethargy
4. Redness of the skin
5. Brown or black discharge in the ear

How can I protect my pet from parasites?

A year-round prevention plan is the best way to prevent parasites in your pet. Some parasites such as ticks are more prevalent in the warmer months, however others can survive within the household during the winter months. This is why it is so important not to fall behind on your pet’s medication schedule.
